Cultural awareness briefings
The way people communicate around the world is defined by personal and cultural values.
So how can we communicate, exchange ideas and reach agreement effectively with people from different cultural backgrounds?
Language in itself is an important factor, but even when the language barrier has been overcome, there are often misunderstandings due to differences in styles of verbal and non-verbal communication and our reasoning and expectations of each other.
This workshop will:
- explain major cultural differences and similarities impacting on business communication
- provide tools to assist with adaptation to the cultural and corporate communication style of the other culture
- coach individuals to project the right image and generate respect and trust
- develop techniques to communicate effectively face-to-face and remotely with people from different cultures
Participants will acquire an understanding of their own communication style and of those from other cultural backgrounds. They will practise effective communication techniques, test new tools and design their own customised approach for communicating more effectively with international colleagues thus avoiding the pitfalls commonly associated with communicating across cultures.
