The way we work and develop new business relationships within our own culture is not necessarily effective, valued or acceptable in another cultural context. Very often, the very traits that had been our strengths may become weaknesses in a different cultural environment.

Language in itself is an important factor, but even when the language barrier has been overcome, there are often misunderstandings due to differences in styles of verbal and
non-verbal communication and our reasoning and expectations
of each other.

Objective of the workshop

The objective of this workshop is to provide participants with a practical understanding of cultural diversity and to give them the tools to lay the foundations for more effective cross-cultural working relationships within their organisation and across their regions of operation.


Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, delegates will be able to:
Understand and explain major cultural differences and similarities impacting on business;
what motivates “Others” and how “They” perceive “Us”
Reflect on a range of strategies to project a professional image and generate respect and trust
Explore new skills to help them successfully implement these strategies across their culturally diverse
environment
Develop their own action plan to activate what they learned and start to develop successful working
relationships across cultural boundaries
