Here are a few tips on how to prepare for the Elementary English Test:
- Look at the EET Sample Test to become familiar with the content
- Check the Test Level Guide for level A1 and make sure you have the correct level in all skills
- Practise writing short messages – many candidates have problems with this
- Read any leaflets and promotional material you see in public places or that are sent to you – there are many useful words here for you to learn
- Use every opportunity you have to speak English – this will help you talk about yourself during the speaking test
- Listen to English speakers and notice which phrases and words they use to talk about themselves
- Prepare with the help of the following books:
- ESOL Activities: Entry 1 by Louis Harrison, published by Cambridge University Press (2008). This book also has an Audio CD to prepare the listening part of the test.
