Terms & Conditions for one-to-one training

Once you have filled in an enrolment form, you will be contacted within 2 working days to arrange a level assessment and to discuss your training needs. Once all course details have been agreed, you will be sent a course confirmation showing course details – course language and level, day and time, tutor and location and our Terms & Conditions.  This will be followed by a payment link so that you can make payment for the course.   

Payment – Course fees are charged prior to the course start date. Professional Language Solutions  will send you a course confirmation and a link to our website where you can verify course details.   You will then be asked to make the full payment online via Cardstream.  Upon payment classes can commence.   Professional Language Solutions reserves the right to suspend the course until payment is received.

Course materials – Your tutor may recommend a course book for you and it is advised that you purchase your own materials based on your tutor’s recommendation. Alternatively, Professional Language Solutions can order your course materials but you will be charged at postage & packaging and Vat in addition to the cost price of the book. 

Rescheduling - Lessons may be rescheduled or cancelled at no cost to the client provided at least 24 hours’ advance notice is given (excluding weekends and national holidays). Any lessons postponed/cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be considered a 'late cancellation' and will be charged in full.  Professional Language Solutions Head Office MUST be notified of all cancellations in the first instance.

Refunds and cancellations - Notification must be given to Professional Language Solutions if you wish to either terminate the course or put the course on hold before completing the agreed booked hours.   If you decide to terminate the course, there are no refunds given except in exceptional circumstances to be determined on a case by case basis.  

If you don’t take lessons for more than 6 months, the course will automatically be considered 'inactive' and will be considered 'finished' after 1 year of last class date, at which time all remaining hours will expire.

Late arrival – In the exceptional circumstance that your tutor arrives late for their lesson, they will make up the missed time at the end of the lesson or on another occasion to suit the student.   If you do not turn up to your lesson, the tutor will wait up to 30 minutes before leaving.  

Travel – There is no travel charge in London, zones 1-2. Outside central London, tutors’ travel expenses are charged at 40 pence per mile calculated from the tutor’s departure point to your office or at cost price for a train fare to your office.    

Supplements - Normal teaching hours are Monday-Friday. 8am to 8pm.  Any lessons starting before 8am and finishing after 8pm or taking place on Saturdays will be subject to a 25% supplement on top of the hourly rate.   

Exams – Should you choose to register for an exam, these are charged at cost price + a non-refundable admin fee of £25.

Upon commencement of the course you will be deemed to be in automatic agreement with Professional Language Solutions Ltd that at no time will you make private arrangements for lessons with any of our tutors. All bookings with PLS tutors must be made through our Head Office.
