Our client is a global defence, aerospace and security company with over 80.000 employees worldwide. The Company delivers a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and support services.

We are now looking for a qualified and experienced Demand Management Professional to work on an initial 9 to 12-month contract, with possibility of extension/renewal.

This position would be suitable for an experienced Logistics Professional where the requirement is to resolve any day to day material supply issues and problems. The postholder will supervise a small team in a Physical Logistics environment.

The successful candidate will execute the safely discharge receipt, storage, pick, pack, dispatch and transportation activities in line with regulations and standards in order to deliver customer requirements within timescales. Maintain and update appropriate IT systems, and resolve queries/issues through interface with other teams. Limited supervisory responsibilities.

Key roles and Responsibilities 

  • Provide effective Physical Logistics activities by meeting delivery targets and reporting any impact on Continuing Airworthiness, operational/process performance. Understand how individual actions contribute to overall delivery performance.
  • Ensure all Physical Logistics activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems
  • Ensure Human Factors and Error Management philosophies are applied to all Physical Logistics activities
  • Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevant Continuing Airworthiness Regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any Regulatory-driven changes into the Physical Logistics activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO, etc.
  • Receive all items, ensuring that all required documentation is present and correct and that the packaging is intact. Quarantine any non-conforming items for appropriate investigation action. Record receipts using Stock accounting systems and procedures in place.
  • Check that part numbers on documentation matches that marked on the part or parts packaging. Quarantine any non-confirming items for appropriate investigation action.
  • Place stores and parts demands ensuring satisfactory response from source in order to meet key performance indicators.
  • Ensure the storage, handling and movement of hazardous materials is carried out as defined within hazard data sheets and mandated procedures
  • Pick, pack and deliver parts requests to the customer, ensuring the right parts are delivered to the right place at the right time safely including line side replenishment.
  • Protect any materials for dispatch against transit damage. Adhere to material packaging standards publications.

  

The Candidate must have the following:

  • Hold a minimum of a recognised qualification to NVQ3 / Level 3 Award in relevant discipline.
  • Good IT literacy skills and knowledge of asset tracking / MRP systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.

 

It is desirable for the post holder to demonstrate:

  • Understand the workings of a Physical Logistics operation and the importance of documentation in a safety critical environment.
  • Good planning and expediting knowledge and skills and experience of using asset tracking / warehouse and planning systems.
  • Knowledge of customer and supplier logistics processes.
  • Relationship building skills in order to build working rapport with the line and suppliers and problem solving skills to ensure quick resolution of items shortages to the line.
